Pienza, Tuscany»Val D'Orcia Villa
- Bedrooms: 8
- Bathrooms: 9
- Sleeps: 20
Imagine your wedding in a Tuscan country farmhouse, rustic yet elegant, where designers Ab Rogers of London and DA Studio in Florence collaborated to create a luxury retreat. Although the materials used are traditional and local, the common spaces are open and spacious and the guest rooms are totally modern.
Inside you will find cream colored stone floors, brand new queen mattresses with luxurious linens from Bussati, massive showers with Ortigia skin products and in several rooms, stand alone bath tubs with views over the valley.
The property itself is four acres surrounded by rolling pastures and grain fields. Have your ceremony outdoors by the infinity pool. Inside, the kitchen is outfitted with professional appliances and is designed at the center of the common area downstairs.
Midway between Florence and Rome and just south of Siena is the Val d’Orcia, near the renaissance gem of Pienza, the medieval hot springs of Bagno Vignoni, and the wine capitals of Montalcino and Montepulciano. Named a UNESCO Heritage site in 2004, the Val d’Orcia is the quintessential, unspoiled Tuscany of golden pastures, cypress trees and walled hill towns where “The English Patient”, parts of “Gladiator” and “Under the Tuscan Sun” were filmed.
Val D'Orcia Villa offers the perfect base from which to explore the stunning countryside and the hill towns of southern Tuscany and around Siena. The striking ancient clay hills of the crete senesi and perfectly preserved medieval and Renaissance hills towns, abbeys and castles characterize this part of southern Tuscany where life continues much the same as it has for centuries.
